Welcome to the “Crysis Wars EX Update #4”, the regular report about the latest changes and additions in the world of Crysis Wars EX. We have several categories in each update and we hope to get some input from you, the community, to know exactly what you want to read in these updates. Our fourth update is all about statistics, why they are important for Crysis Wars EX and what kind of benefit you will have from them.

The Stats System
Developed by 1ApRiL and based upon the Crysis 1 modification CryStats Crysis Wars EX will contain a new stats system. This OMG! Stats System is recording many useful statistics about players per round, map, game, weapon and game server. A list of all recorded statistics can be seen below.
- Score
- Kills
- Deaths
- Time
- Life time
- Death time
- Shots
- Hits
- Headshots
- Damage
- Self kills
- Team kills
- Team damage
- Kill assists
Using the recorded statistics we have made several new additions to the game that can be used by all players and server administrators in Crysis Wars EX.
- Added chat command to display current statistics of own player / other player
- Added server side option to enable / disable the OMG! Stats System
- Added server side option to enable / disable the output of statistics
- Added chat command (for clients) to enable / disable the output of statistics. Only works if the server side option is enabled.
- Kill information get displayed as soon as a player killed someone or gets killed.
- Added achievements that get displayed on the OMG! Stats Homepage.
- Addition of a global rank system.

Einige Funktionen stehen nur zur Verfügung, wenn das Interface auf dem Computer, auf dem der Spieleserver läuft, ausgeführt wird. Eine vollständige Dokumentation über Installation und Konfiguration liegt auf Englisch als PDF bei.

Lothar Späth awarded the Frankfurt based game developer for its outstanding innovation management with the “Top 100” award
Frankfurt, June 26, 2009 – Crytek GmbH is one of the 100 most innovative middle-sized companies in Germany. This is the conclusion of an actual study in line with a nationwide and interbranch comparison between different companies. And Crytek convinced especially with its custom innovation management. Lothar Späth, retired prime minister of Baden-Württemberg, handed the coveted award to the Hessian enterprisers on Friday evening in the course of a ceremony at „Gästehaus Petersberg“ in Königswinter.

| Crytek's Gface Logo enthüllt |  
GameStar.de berichtet: "Bereits im April hatte der Spieleentwickler Crytek drei Marken beim amerikanischen Trademark-Office angemeldet: Gface, Carvatar und Kingdoms. Wie die Kollegen der amerikanischen Fansite Incrysis.com jetzt melden, hat Crytek jetzt auch zwei Logoabbildungen für Gface beim Trademark-Office eingereicht. Wie man es sich denken kann, zeigt das Logo zu Gface ein zu einem Gesicht stilisierten Buchstaben 'G'. Neben diesem Symbol zeigt Crytek auch den Schriftzug zu Gface. Noch ist völlig unklar, worum es sich bei Gface überhaupt handelt und ob es überhaupt ein Spiel ist.
Derzeit arbeitet Crytek im Geheimen: Auf der Spielemesse E3 stellte der Hersteller zumindest kurz Crysis 2 vor, allerdings ohne dabei ins Detail zu gehen. Mittlerweile gehören zum Spielehersteller aber neben dem Frankfurter Kernteam Entwicklungsstudios in der Ukraine, Bulgarien, Ungarn und in Großbritannien. Die werden sicherlich nicht nur an einem Spiel arbeiten. Die nächste Gelegenheit für eine große Enthüllung wäre zum Beispiel die Spielemesse GamesCom im August in Köln."

In the third update we have a big announcement to make and we will introduce you to some more specific features of this modification.

Crysis Wars EX goes ESL
Today we can proudly announce our partnership with the ESL Crysis Wars section. Since weeks we are preparing Crysis Wars EX to be the perfect solution for all competitive players that play the game against other players in different competitions. Finally we can announce that the usage of Crysis Wars EX will be mandatory in ever Crysis Wars ladder from July 24th on. We also have a statement today from r4rgh, the European Master League Admin about this decision:
“Crysis Wars EX brings many modifications and game balance fixes that perfectly match the ESL players' wishes. The ESL Crysis Wars section welcomes with open arms this modification, which will become mandatory from July 24th on.
We are really looking forward to the numerous improvements and new contents Crysis Wars EX will bring. Be sure we, at the ESL, will fully support this mod in the form of ladder and cups!”

Competitive Features revealed
In the last two updates we revealed several new features of Crysis Wars EX that were mainly addressing general issues. This week we focus on features for hardcore and competitive players.
Improvement: Disabled most console commands that can be used to tweak the game and adjust it to gain an advantage. Tweaking and adjusting settings is still possible with the use of the in-game options menu.
Improvement: Added server side console command to set all players to the same graphic settings (LowSpec).
Improvement: Addition of own GUID system as preparation for own Global Ban System.
Improvement: Added console commands to bind Loadouts to keys in Power Struggle game mode.

| Crysis 2 - Best Shooter of E3 2009 |  
Crysis follow up wins its very first award at Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles...
Frankfurt, June 15, 2009 – The Readers of VE3D.com chose Crysis 2 as Best PC Shooter of this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles.
During the show, Crytek announced the development of the sequel to its popular shooter Crysis and revealed that Crysis 2 will be developed simultaneously for the PS3, PC and Xbox 360. The game will be entirely developed using CryEngine 3.

Version 1.0 – More features revealed!
Last week we revealed the first features of Crysis Wars EX. We want to continue in this update and reveal most of the other features. Some special ones will be mentioned in the next updates. As a side note we want to mention that all server side features can be administrated using console commands to enable and disable the features on the fly without the need to adjust external files and restart the server.
· Improvement: Addition of Server Side option to allow name changing
· Improvement: Added High Ping kick option for server administrators
· Improvement: Added alternative way to show the player ingame icons
· Improvement: Addition of Server Side option to rename Nomads to alternative names
· Fixed: SDK issue with the localized text not being able to be loaded from the localized folder
· Fixed: bug with explosions not showing up
· Fixed: issue with not being able to kill sleeping enemies
· Fixed: issue with laser dot not being visible on all surfaces
· Balance: Slowed down the Light TAC Tank
· Balance: Decreased melee damage to a value between Patch 1.4 and Patch 1.5
· Balance: Resized 3D objectives icons in Power Struggle
· Balance: Reworked the balance of the Hurricane to make the weapon more effective as defending weapon
· Balance: Raised Switching Speed of all weapons

Crysis Wars EX?
This is the first time you hear about Crysis Wars EX? Then let me introduce you to the world of EX. It all started in a small forum where people from the community founded the Online Modding Group. During the next weeks they were working on schedules and feature lists to define the clear content of the project and ended up with 5 pages full of features and improvements and some weeks later the project got the name CRYSIS WARS EX(TENDED).
EX describes everything we do in one word. Our goal is to deliver more content to the community and improve the game together with all of you to make it a great Multiplayer experience.
Version 1.0 – Let´s get it started!
We are starting with the first version pretty soon. Of course we will keep improving the game after the release of 1.0 and will add new features to it.
In the first update we want to introduce you to several improvements we were working on for the last weeks. Over time we will reveal more information on the first version.
- Improvement: Server Side Option to enable/disable Walljump
- Improvement: Addition of command to enable/disable the Hit Indicator
- Improvement: Addition of new console command to compare server and client Protect.xml file
- Improvement: Added new command to show FPS (without the other information from r_displayinfo)
- Improvement: Added new console command to show player information (mod version, ping, map name…)
- Improvement: Added console commands to set different item restrictions for each game mode
- Fixed: Misplaced AY-69 Silencer in 3rd person
- Fixed: Map Exploit on Refinery
- Fixed: Two different issues with changing map on the server
- Fixed: Bug with raising weapon
- Balance: FY-71 Game Balance changes to be more equal to the SCAR
- Addition: Replaced old Sniper Scope with a new Sniper Scope
- Addition: Added small visual changes to the Hurricane

Cevat Yerli spricht über die Konsolen
Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli sprach nicht nur mit den Kollegen von Developmentmag.com, sondern sprach auch mit den Kollegen von Gamasutra.com. Mit den Kollegen von Gamasutra redete er über die jeweiligen Konsolen (Xbox 360 und PlayStation 3).
Laut Cevat Yerli bringt die CryEngine 3 die PlayStation 3 bis ans Limit. Weiteres dazu im Interview mit den Kollegen.
Hier ein Auszug aus dem Interview:
"Das Interessante ist, dass wir eine Performance-Analyse auf dem PS3-Devkit durchgeführt haben... und wisst Ihr, das Witzigste war, dass die Auslastung aller CPUs, des Cell-Prozessors und der GPUs ziemlich hoch war - die Nadel befand sich am Limit", so Cevat Yerli zu den Kollegen von Gamasutra.
"Viel mehr kann man nicht tun. Und ehrlich gelang uns der Durchbruch erst kürzlich, ansonsten hätten wir bei unserer Strategie auf den Konsolen Kompromisse eingehen müssen. Jetzt ist das nicht der Fall." "Ich denke, es geht noch immer aufwärts, aber wir erreichen schon das Limit der Hardware."
Unterschiede zwischen Xbox 360 und PlayStation 3 soll es dennoch kaum geben: "Nun, im Grunde genommen ist das Spiel so ziemlich identisch."
"Vermutlich ist die eine Konsole stärker auf der GPU-Seite, die andere eher auf der CPU-Seite. Abhängig davon, was wir an einer bestimmten Stelle tun, schlägt sich die PlayStation 3 manchmal besser, während die Xbox 360 andere Dinge besser regelt. Generell wird das Spiel aber absolut identisch sein, wenn es in den Handel kommt."
